A panel tasked with finding new symbols for Minnesota has selected a new state flag.Members of the State Emblems Redesign Commission on Tuesday chose a flag design with an eight-pointed white star in a dark blue abstract shape of Minnesota on the left, and a field of light blue on the right. The final design was inspired by one of more than 2,000 public submissions and emerged after multiple rounds of elimination by the 13-member commission and final tweaks by professional designers.Members of the commission also made more tweaks to the state seal on Tuesday after selecting the final design concept earlier this month. The design centers around a loon, the state bird, and now is surrounded by a golden circle with 87 segments to represent each county in Minnesota. The state will adopt the flag and seal on May 11, unless state lawmakers reject their recommendations. The design is inspired by a submission from 24-year-old Luverne resident Andrew Prekker. ST. LOUIS - There's a possibility that St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues games could be broadcast on Amazon Prime after their 2024 seasons. E-commerce giant Amazon is considering a partnership with the Diamond Sports Group that could lead to Amazon Prime streaming games currently airing on Diamond's regional sports networks, according to reports Monday from the Wall Street Journal and Axios. That would include games on Bally Sports Midwest, the broadcast home of the Cardinals and Blues. Diamond Sports Group, the largest owner of regional sports networks, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in March after missing a $140 million interest payment. The news of potential interest rate cuts next year could leave would-be homebuyers with visions of lower mortgage rates dancing in their heads. But it’s too late to take advantage of more favorable terms on that $13 million house in Boulder or the $14.7 million, nine-bedroom home in Golden. Those two made the list of some of the priciest home sales across the state in 2023, a year in which higher mortgages certainly didn’t hinder the luxury home market. There’s luxury, and then there’s Aspen luxury. The most expensive property on the list compiled by The Agency, a global, boutique real estate brokerage, sold for $76 million, five time the amount of the home in Golden. The 21,500-square foot home in Aspen comes with ski-in access from Aspen Mountain, a swimming pool, a bowling alley and seven bedrooms. The second-priciest home sold this year in the tony mountain enclave, at $65 million, is just a few hundred yards from the Aspen Mountain Gondola with “greate...Oskar Blues CHUBurger reopens in Longmont after 4 years

Queen Bea Rules El Rey: Saturday was the last night of Bea Miller‘s Gauche tour, her first jaunt in four years. It concluded with two nights in Los Angeles at the El Rey, and we dropped by the second on Saturday night.Miller has come a hell of a long way since she was a contestant on season two of The X-Factor in 2012 when she was just 13. Two albums and eight EPs followed over the 11 years, as her sound evolved into the gritty, lyrically sharp, hyper alt-pop that it is today. Before Miller performed, her guitar player Ethan Tasch opened proceedings with a 15 minute set of his own. Tasch is a solo acoustic indie folk artist and while he said at the top that the aesthetic is slightly odd for this gig, screw it. “Bea Shmee,” he said with a chuckle. “This is my show.”His songs, while more chill than what follows, are still infectious and compelling enough to appeal to a pop crowd.
